سلفادور دالي (1904-1989) مؤلف روائع مثل ثبات الذاكرة و الفيلة و الحلم ، و إغراء القديس و أنتوني على سبيل المثال لا الحصر ، هو من أكثر الفنانين المحترمين من المجموعة السريالية في الثلاثينات ، و مع ذلك تم طرد الرسام و النحات الإسباني من مجموعة بريتون بسبب آرائه السياسية و تسويقه لعمله ، على الرغم من العواقب مع السرياليين ، استمرت شهرة دالي في النمو ، خاصة بعد الانتقال إلى الولايات المتحدة في عام . 1940.
